Going for a long walk in a short space.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?  I'm looking for mazes and/or labyrinths that have been installed in public spaces, particularly in green parks.   This is with a view to creating more, so any experience of how they were constructed, and how were they received, will be gratefully received.

     Hi Geraldine

I don't have any experience of mazes in parks, but I do have experience of corn field mazes.  When I worked in the NHS in East Kent, i found the 'Marsh Maize Maze' which was open for a few months across Summer in the Romney Marsh area.

I found funding to take 60 of my Health Walk volunteers along for the day out.  They were all ages and some even brought their grandchildren while others came alone.  It was amazing and very impressive.  It was big enough to enjoy a few hours there, so worth the journey.  It wasn't too badly priced either - though of course the volunteers didn't pay as it was one of their 'thank you' events that year.

I'm sure you could 'Google' it and talk to the organisers...

Good luck - mazes are great!
