"I'd like to let you know about one that I discovered that really showed off the best autumn colours…

We are keen walkers but normally just walk the trails we know, we never realised there were so many resources out there to help us decide where to visit in Kent. This weekend, we decided to be a bit more adventurous and find a new trail. We visited the Explore Kent website and found the site to be really useful. We planned a 5 mile walk around Ide Hill in Sevenoaks using the interactive map on the website.

From there, we printed off the map and off we went, not certain of what we would find. It turned out that the route we had chosen ourselves was really good as we saw lots of great views of Bough Beach reservoir...

met some nice people on the walk, spotted some wildlife and even saw some holly with ripe red berries ready for Christmas.

The colours of the leaves was also added bonus, with underfoot and all around being multi coloured.

The walk took about 3 hours, partly because we kept stopping to enjoy the views and to have a picnic near the national trust forest. We parked in Ide Hill which was relatively easy and the pub was an added bonus at the end.

I hope others will take advantage of the interactive map as it was a great resource to plan a walk."
