Hello - my first time here thus I was wondering whether there are any walkers out there who regularly walk in the Bristol/Yate/South Gloucestershire areas who would like to meet up ?

Hi,

I have just set up a new walking group called 'London Escapes' for people based in, or near, London who would like to escape for the day.

Good brisk walks (6 - 10 miles) and a visit to something beautiful, exciting or fascinating.

Next event on 20 June 'Back to the Backs - Cambridge and Grantchester'

18 July 'Fit for a Prince - Brighton and the South Downs'

Forthcoming London Walking Network - call for input and date change

Hi There

As many of you know we are about to launch the first of the Walking Networks in the London region. It will be a packed day full of speakers, discussion and workshops. We also have a lunchtime exhibition which will showcase partner organisations and other interesting projects.

If you work in the London region and would like to tell others about any cross-sector projects you have been involved in, then i'd love to hear from you to see if we can include you in the lunchtime exhibition via a poster, photos etc.

Shoudl be a great day - looking forward to it!

Please note that the date has changed and it looks highly likely that it will be Monday 10th November - this will be confirmed via an email invite by the end of this week.

We all know how useful it is to be able to talk to people from different sectors, who share the same aim of getting more people to walk more, but sometimes its hard to find the right person!

This forum has been created as a quick and easy way to find others in your area whose job involves walking in some way, so that you can get in touch and discuss local issues, ask questions, give advice, create online walking steering groups and get walking to the top of the agenda in your area!

Simply post details about your job, where you are based and who you wish to talk to. E.g. Health Promotion Officer based in the North West wishes to find people within the transport sector to discuss an active travel campaign that is planned for Preston, Lancashire.

People can then respond to you as well as invite other people to join the conversation who may be able to help.
