    I suppose that on the one hand this report seems based on common sense, but on the other its great that this evidence has been updated and expanded so that quality of life and neighbourly interaction now has even more weighty arguments behind it, especially as another angle for community funding...

    Does anyone else know of any other similar research?

     This graphic has always been a very powerful tool (Appleyard's original) to use when presenting the case for making streets more people friendly by reducing vehicle volumes. Its fantastic that it has been updated within a UK context so people can't dismiss it as either 'old' or 'American'.  The challenge now is to bring such great research to bear on the decisions local authorities are making about our streets!
